Hungarian form of EDMUND (SEE Edmund). The infant Anglo-Saxon princes Edward and Edmund, sons of Edmund Ironside, were sent away from England by the usurping Canute. They eventually settled in Hungary, where they were granted large estates by King Andrew I.
